While we had the Meeting with the team of doctors this afternoon, Ella, who is very alert, motioned to the nurse, questioning where we were. She assured Ella we would be right back, and that the ventilator would probably be removed tomorrow. Ella indicated that she wanted it removed TODAY. We also had come to that consensus, and at 4:00 p.m. it was removed and her hands freed. She can whisper with a sore throat. Her first words: I love you. We dont how long she can continue. When we see a trend of her struggling, they will begin comfort mode. I am staying the night with her, to give the family time to rest, and will call the family if the situation changes. We have no idea what God has in store in these days, but Ella is comfortable, and ready to see Him face to face. Please remember all of us here at the hospital during these days, especially my wife Colleen, and her brother Frank, as we await their mothers home going. Thank you for your prayers!
