Whiplash--stayed up way to late to see this last night, but well worth it. Inspiring, actually, and as Patrick Du Laney wisely noted: its not afraid to ask big questions. What makes an artistic genius? What inspires the good to become great? How can you demand excellence but not diminish humanity? I thought back to the best teachers Ive had--who expected the most from me and who inspired me to do my best? Thinking thoughts. Asking questions. Good films, like all good art, can do that.
