Whos in your Circle: While we are on this journey called life we will inevitably come upon areas where there will be construction crews and forced road corrections. As we approach these areas we will see signs warning us of what we need to do and what is to come. Sometimes the signs will instruct us to slow down, merge into another lane because a lane is closing or it may even direct us to take a detour because the road we wanted to access has been closed. It doesnt make sense to blow your horn, have a temper tantrum or yell at other drivers because you have been redirected to another road. Simply accept the forced road correction and journey on. In this walk with God we will encounter construction crews, roadblocks and detours not because God is trying to prevent us from reaching our destination but because there is another way that He wants us to go. We often get so fixated on one way that when we are rerouted it can throw us off track and even frustrate us. When we use a navigation system and type in the address to where we desire to go we have to obey the instructions given. We dont fight, complain and murmur with the GPS so why do we do that with God? Do you really believe that the one who made the universe doesnt know whats best for you and how to cause you to arrive at your predetermined place? We question why we didnt get a certain position, house or didnt marry the one we desired. Its because we have been redirected by Gods Pilot System (GPS). If you would take a deep breath and relax the system will put you on the course you need to take in order for you to arrive at the correct destination. You must follow the instructions and yield to His plan for you dont know whats best for you, only He does. When youve been redirected it can be unnerving because its a place youre unfamiliar with and you have to be totally dependent on God. Its truly a walk of faith and its right where God wants you. You are totally, wholly and solely dependent on Him and are forced to follow His lead and not go based on what or who you know. Relax but simultaneously make haste to follow the instructions for your course correction. God knows what Hes doing. Trust Him. Surround yourself with people who see who you are and arent focused on where you are. Im not speaking of those who dont challenge you to be your best self. Flee from them!!! However, some people are more focused on the treasures you possess than the treasure thats within you. The truth of the matter is the treasure within you will always attract treasures to you. Sometimes we say were waiting on God as if we dont have a role to play in this walk. In actuality were oftentimes hiding behind religious jargon as well as being lax. We have to do our part and pursue whatever it is we desire in life whether its natural or spiritual. Time is short and we have to make a move. The next time youre tempted to say Im waiting on God really think about it and ask yourself is God waiting on me?? Ive heard it said before that If you want to see your future look at the 5 people you spend most of your time with. That is your future. That can be a sobering thought and causes one to take inventory of their circle. Are the people youre surrounded by progressive in their thinking, focused, ambitious, driven, health conscious, have a zest for life and are they fiscally fit? Do they love and pursue God with all of their heart? Do they have a prayer life? Are they readers or do they just watch tv? Do they want the best that life has to offer? Or do you hang out with those who dont want more and are satisfied with living a mediocre existence? Their lives may not be ratchet but they arent productive either. It may be time to make course corrections for youre only as great as the people you spend your time with. In any relationship youre either being pulled forward or pushed back. If you desire to go somewhere that they dont youre going to have to walk away. Its not that you dont like them or love them youre just on a different or new path. The scripture, 1 Corinthians 15:33 that says evil communications corrupt good manners. Many of us think we can hang with anyone and not be affected but thats impossible. If you hang around people who are corrupt, unmotivated or lackadaisical you will not only be affected but you will also be infected by them. If you keep company with people who love to eat greasy and fattening food all the time you are likely to become overweight. If your friends arent motivated to get an education you probably wont be either. Whenever you get an infection you typically need outside help in order to become whole. It means that something has gone past the surface level and has gained entrance into the body. Over the counter ointments and creams wont work. You need a prescription. Before you become infected you must walk away. As you make course corrections on your journey and change your circle you must be mindful of how you treat people in the process. Dont be cruel or curt. Love people but just know that the role of some may change or will change but keep journeying on anyhow. Also, dont limit yourself to new opportunities for friendships and relationships based on externalities. Oftentimes who we need in our lives dont look like us. Whose in your circle? Be careful of who you allow to speak into your life and who you give permission to define you. Their vision may be distorted and they see you as less than what God intended. They may also have cataracts and see men as trees. Ask God to tell you who you are and what your purpose is in the earth. He will allow people to confirm it but the answer should always come from the one who is the source. I was recently going to a place I wasnt that familiar with. I entered the address to where i was going on my phones GPS app. After driving for awhile, I hadnt heard any instructions. I was holding the phone and wondered if it was working. I looked to see if the phone was still on. I checked and wondered why i hadnt heard anything because i thought I was in the right vicinity. Some minutes later i heard the womans voice chime in and told me what to do next. Then I thought hmmm i wasnt given further instructions because i hadnt yet reached the place where i needed to be in order to receive them. Sometimes in this walk with God we get frustrated, restless, agitated and even angry because were anxious to know whats coming next and things dont seem to make sense. Like the GPS God doesnt tell us everything all at once because it would be too overwhelming. He instructs us what to do and as we are obedient were given the next leg of directions/instructions. I wanted to know what was coming when i hadnt reached where i needed to be in order to receive the instructions. Thats why its important to obey each step and every commandment. Some of us are driving around aimless because we didnt follow last month or last weeks instructions. We think we can just skip over Mays mandate and be alright in September. The GPS will make course corrections if necessary if you have gotten off track but you lose something even if its just minutes. I chuckle sometimes when I see people going here and there to receive a word from a prophet when oftentimes they havent obeyed the last word they received. Why is God going to waste His word on you when you wont obey? Do what God has told you to do so youre in the place you need to be in order to receive the next set of instructions. You have to be in position. God is not going to bless you just anyway. You must be obedient. If someone, that was reputable, told me that they had 50k for me but I had to meet them at 12 noon today in The next town which is an hour or more from where I live, I would do whatever I needed to get there. If I needed to I would borrow a car, rent a car, or pay someone to take me to get to where the monetary blessing was. Some of us are getting frustrated on the path when we havent reached the set place in order to receive whats coming next. You have to do your part. If you are obedient and keep going in the right direction you will reach your destination. Dont get discouraged or distracted when it seems like God is silent. He may be waiting on you. God will begin speaking and revealing His plan when you get to the place you need to be in order to receive it.
