Whos ready for the next challenge? How about a Christmas - TopicsExpress

Whos ready for the next challenge? How about a Christmas present for yourself....the gift of....DOUBLE UNDERS!! The Challenge: Athlete must be able to complete 50 D/Us unbroken and strung together after 30 days What is Needed: Tough skin and the desire to get better! However, if you havent purchased a personal jump-rope, we highly suggest you do so. A personal rope allows you to practice at home, and brings consistency to the rope you use making technique better. (See info below) When does it Start: Monday Nov. 17 - No sign up is needed.....a simple Hey Im In! in the comments below would be awesome though! This challenge is open to all Contraband Members who are NOT currently proficient in D/Us. Lack of proficiency means NOT being able to string 10 or more D/Us together. If you are still struggling with getting more than 10 D/Us consistently, then you may still participate, but the challenge will be 75 D/Us. All athletes who can prove proficiency by Dec 20 will have their name entered into a drawing for 1 of 3 prizes!! Drawing will be performed on Dec 20. We will be judging D/Us the week of Dec 15, with the final day to get your name in on Dec 19. We invite you to practice at home, before class starts, or after class ends. It can be a great warm up, and working this skill after a WOD reinforces the skill through the demands on the central nervous system. Watch for Tips/Videos on the Facebook page, and ask questions of the Coaches anytime! Ropes can be purchased from Academy, Dicks Sporting Goods, Rogue Fitness, RX Jump Ropes, or even Walmart.Or, feel free to use the ones at the box. We suggest a slightly heavier rope (thicker cable) to start, but feel free to try some of the smaller cables we have at the box too. Most of you should have heard this from the coaches at CC before, but as a reminder, here is a good video on how to measure your cable length for your jump rope. Any questions, never hesitate to talk to a coach!! ~Dave https://youtube/watch?v=d4d6ZrPLqAo
