Why I ALWAYS wear my boots around horses... no exceptions, LOL! At the end of my little snooze with Phoenix, Jacob (AKA Mr Cheeky-Face) came over to investigate. First, he sniffed me... he was being very gentle & polite, so I just stayed lying still. Then he moved in between me & Phoenix, giving Phoenix a bit of a sniff too. I was just contemplating whether it might be a good idea to get up & move, but too slow! Phoenix took offence at Jacobs forwardness & shot him an evil eye. Like any sensible youngster, Jacob leapt out of the way... unfortunately landing one hind hoof fully on the instep of my foot! He immediately took his weight off it, but it still bruised... eeeeeouch! Pretty sure if I had not had strong boots on, there would have been broken bones! So folks... wear your boots! ;-)
