Why I make hats for our veterans. This is put inside every hat I make These hats are a very small token of my appreciation for what you have done for our country! I have had 3 men in my life that has shown me to honor the USA and to stand proud of our country. The first was a pen pal Jerry Ford from Chickasha,OK who served in the Navy during Vietnam. He would write letters to me about the love he had for our country. He made an impression on me when I was only twelve years old. This man on his leave made the time to come meet me and my parents The next man is my father-in-law Thomas Pettet a WWII vet he lied about his age so he could join the Navy. He was stranded on a Japanese held island for weeks. He had to do God knows what to stay alive. He was given Metals for heroism that he still wont talk about. I am so glad he is still in my life. The third man is Mike Taber a Vietnam vet who died from cancer brought on by agent orange exposure in country back in the late 1960s. Despite the unpopularity of the war in Vietnam, he was a very proud Marine and served 3 tours of duty there. I hope by making these hats I am doing Mike proud. Oh I forgot one thing I must say for Mike Semper FI always faithful! God bless each one of you for standing up for what you believe and making this a better country. Our e-mail address is [email protected] if you have any other Proud Warriors that would like a hat please send me a message and I will be glad to make them one! Thank you again Gary and Kathy Pettet
