Why are muslims so embarrassed about womens bodies - but not mens bodies? As an atheist following religious mandates of dress is totally alien. If you look at how women dressed in Western societies you will see great similarities in how women dressed before 1914 and earlier to the muslims today. Nuns in the Catholic Church until recently still covered themselves extensively - and still do in some countries. In muslim countries dress standards have gone backwards since about the 1970s when many states in the middle east became theocracies. Before then women of a certain level of education dressed indistinguishably from Western women. It seems strange to hide what these people think is gods special creation. Are they saying he got it so wrong that men know better than their infallible, all knowing omnipresent god. Weird.
