Why is Brady & Kosofsky the only firm talking about the upcoming closing changes????? I wish I had a good answer, the Federal Government has increased its oversight and scruitiny of our industry, and they are focusing on two main areas: Lending Standards and Disclosures and Illegal Kickbacks and Relationships under RESPA- If your closing and settlement professional has not addressed this yet, they are behind the eight ball, and will not be ready in August.... there is simply too much to change between now and then. Who has been fined so far? -Related Busineses like Title Insurance Companies -Builders -Title Companies -Mortgage Insurance Companies -Attorneys -Real Estate Companies - The Charlotte Area has a lot of real estate professionals who know their local business.... this is has not been taught to the Real Estate Broker Community by the State Bar, the Real Estate Commission, or anyone else. Is it all bad?- No... Its a lot of changes, it will drastically change the way you do business; but in the end... it will be a great system. Dont stick your head in the sand and wait until the last minute... This is an opportunity to step up in the local real estate profession and set the trend....
