Why is there no diversity on the radio these days? Every rapper - TopicsExpress

Why is there no diversity on the radio these days? Every rapper sounds the same, every pop singer sounds the same, every Triple J indie singer/songwriter has the same voice timbre? Why would you want to sound like everyone else? All I can say is thank god there are still a few bands making it through that are unique and Im loving how they are experimenting with different types of technology too. Otherwise I wouldnt be listening to anything new... only the old school stuff that my mum and older sisters introduced me to - When songs had meaning; singers could actually sing without auto-tune and every note meant something rather than showing off how many meaningless notes they can fit into 1 second; musicians could make their instruments talk and come alive; people pushed boundaries rather than trying to squeeze into them; when people actually appreciated music and paid to support it... I think I was born into the wrong generation.
