Why should people have had to pray for Paul to be released when God already wanted him to travel and proclaim the gospel? Was it really necessary? The answer is definitely “Yes.” It is because prayer is part of God’s own plan, His package deal with us. Prayer is not just our natural clamor to God when we are in trouble. Prayer is how He determined that we would communicate with Him. More than that, He wishes to bless people, but primarily through others, as they pray. If we do not pray, we narrow the channel through which His goodness flows into people’s lives. We therefore have a duty to perform that is both a joy and a privilege. Good afternoon saints.
