Wild boar is a wonderful meat – if you can get it. In the UK it not too much of a problem as it is actually farmed and treated the same as any other pork product. But here in Spain, it is very difficult to get hold of – unless you know a friendly hunter. And then, only if you know that the hunter has had the meat tested for rabies. The wild boar are really wild and hunted to keep the numbers in check, but they are very dangerous. Only last year, a villager from Tous was killed by a wild boar for merely trying to feed a group of wild boar piglets.
