Wilden 2 dayer this weekend, really looking forward to it - day 1 - TopicsExpress

Wilden 2 dayer this weekend, really looking forward to it - day 1 saw me on B section. Plan of attack revolved around a positive gb line loaded with caster, dead reds and choppy, a,shorter pellet line, and an inside maggot line. Well the maggot didnt work and I couldnt buy a bite on the pellet, but the positive gb line (2 parts green algae, 1 part bream, both put through a fine riddle before mixing) saw a steady stream of small skimmers for most of the day - 12-11-0 on the scales saw me in third place, good start! Day 2 on A section, and the plan hadnt changed apart from the pellet line out long to the left of the positive gb line, both at 14.5m. I also set a waggler up as I love it. Well after 30 mins with no bites on the pole the wagg got me off the mark with 4 skimmers from a some extremely lightly fed 4mms. Then it died. All the barrels went on and 2 lines at 16m got mr a few bites. But it was also carp soup - I had 12 encounters with carp, Chris Cam next door 16 encounters!! 5-7-0 in the scales saw a big blow out!!! Well done John Watson in a great couple of matches, Peter Bailey on a brilliant win and Darren Fisher on a superb day 2 section win. Roll on next year (ps, its amazing how much pressure you can put on with well balanced kit. Double figure carp easily dealt with, with 0.12 to 0.08/0.10 bottoms and very light hollows)
