Williams wins 100 meters at world juniors (AP) Incoming Florida State freshman Kendal Williams won the 100 meters at the IAAF world junior championships at Oregon’s Hayward Field on Wednesday night, besting fellow American Trayvon Bromell. Williams finished in a personal-best 10.21 seconds, and Bromell followed at 10.28. Williams’ gold was the first for the United States at the international track and field event. Bromell set the junior world record in the 100 at the NCAA track and field championships last month, breaking the 10-second barrier with a 9.97 finish. Dina Asher-Smith of Britain won the women’s 100 in 11.23 seconds. Florida high school junior Kaylin Whitney was third in 11.45.
