Willow update. Willow went home on Monday evening and is doing really well in fact her family are struggling to keep her rested as she is getting so bored and wants to be up and in to everything. They are under strict instructions to keep her rested and she cant have any falls or pressure on her neck as this could kill her. They are taking it in turns to sleep downstairs with her so she isnt left and her bed is in an enclosed pen for her own safety. Heres a few photos. Her shoulder is shaved where they took bone marrow from her shoulder and grafted onto her neck bones, 16 pins and a cement bridge! She is walking really well already, with a harness and sling. She has been back for her stitches out today and was very excited to get out for a change of scene. She has a cough which they arent too worried about and havent prescribed any meds, possibly due to the oxygen tube down her throat for so long or where the op was. No hydro or any exercise for the next four weeks, then x-rays and see how she goes. All in all shes doing well, theyve said itll be approx 12 weeks for her to recover.
