Wilston Vet staff pet profile: Dr Karen We get asked all the time about our own pets as so stometimes youll see them in the clinic when you visit. Saffron (a domestic short hair kitty) has kindly written her own bio as her mummy (Dr Karen) was super busy this Christmas with family etc. Name: Saffron Spencer Stats: 13 year old female DSH Afflictions: diabetes, allergic skin disease, feline asthma (yes I own a puffer), irritable bowel syndrome, idiopathic cystitis, allergic to my own teeth (yes that is an actual disease & I had all my teeth extracted when I was 3), chronic pancreatitis, a touch of arthritis & living with a tiny human (thats a disease isnt it?) Personal History: Found roaming the streets of Brisbane as a young kitten, rescued by the RSPCA who then decided to allow two nice humans to live with me although they made some agreement about being allowed to dress me in various hats & outfits for special occasions. I never consented to this arrangement, especially the part about wearing a hot pink kimono. *sigh* Phobias: Not getting to sleep for 23.5 hrs a day, my food bowl being empty, having to share my house with a small boy (oh wait, that has happened), tiny kittens & going in my cat carrier. Hobbies: Trying to find my food & water bowls under all the toys that the tiny human throws into MY area, sleeping on the couch, wearing hats, being a scarecrow in the veggie patch to scare off scrub turkeys, getting watered by a small boy, having a massage, getting a bath, reading a bedtime story, sleeping on the rug.
