Win Dat/Tru Dat Chronicles Uniforms: All Black Stats: Saints are 8-1 on Sunday Night Football Sean Payton 3-1 against Cowboys Cowboys lead series 15-11 Romo has a TD pass in 31 straight games Homecoming: Coach Payton, Drew Brees, Kenny Vacarro, Rob Ryan Injury Report/Inactive list:. Jenkins didnt travel with the team.Goodwin OUT, Lelito gets the start. Hawthorne, Watson---Questionable. Ingram, Lorig, Ball---Out Special Teams Win Dat: The kicking game had been solid until the missed extra point last week. Got to get that fixed. Cooks just hold onto the rock, Cadet weve needed a big return or TD for 3 years now. Offensive Win Dat: Oline Protection- Brees has been sacked 3 times this season but has been pressured much more. Dallas has 3 QB sacks this season. Watch for Scandrick on the corner blitz. Dallas plays primarily zone so just give Drew the time to find the play-makers. As the number note its the Cowboys dont have a ferocious pass rush, and if Spencer plays he may help in that aspect. Dallas doesnt have numerous sacks but they do have 5 Forced Turnovers. Have to definitely protect the ball and limit the mistakes(drops, missed blocks, ints, etc). The offense was on fire against the Vikings in the first quarter but cooled down significantly after that. Got to jump on the Cowboys early and often Run Game: Cadet wont get many plays back there. So the focus is on K-Rob and Pierre. Looking at last weeks game. KRob wanted to bounce everything outside. Vikes were stout in the middle, and i know KRob wants to prove he can be a consistent starter, but sometimes its better to take that 3 or 4 yard gain and come back to the huddle. Be patient young fella. I like his running style just practice patience because if we lean on any teams Dline and run enough, the holes will open up. When we go Left by Grubbs and Armstead the lanes are now going their way (31 rushes for 182 yards). I wish we combo blocked more instead of always 1 on 1 blocking. When you have a Dline that needs to be moved combo blocking works. Dallas has given up 110 yards a game rushing. Pierre is the consummate pro and Mr. Reliable whos also a Swiss Army knife. Hes the 3rd down back, hard runner, and Mr.Screen. Last year when we played Dallas Ingram went off, hopefully one of these guys has as big a day WRS/TES: Its not a secret MO Clay walked out on his team, he maybe deactivated this game but well see. Scandrick is the starter opposite Carr. Safety Church and Wilcox. As stated above Dallas hasnt generated much of a pass rush and consequently it has exposed their secondary(sounds familiar). We dont run as many bunch or stack formations as i would like and we haven thrown or had many deep completions(2-6, 66 yards, 1 TD, 0 INTS). Saints right nowhave the highest third down completion %, are taking what teams are giving. We still going to take our shots but id rather get gains and not force passes. Stills and Morgan( if activated) need to be more activate, Colston going through a little inconsistency but hopefully hes past that. Cooks is explosive but right now teams are keying on his Bubble screens. Graham should beast this game JJ Wilcox in no match for Graham cant see Hitchens on him too much either, but they will probably jam him at the line and not let him get free releases. Find the soft zone and this secondary can be had, just be patient. Our offense all about timing and precision. Find Bruce Carter too Defensive Win Dat: RB D.Murray. He has started off the season with 3 straight 100 yard games but has a fumble in each game. Defense has to get to him and smother him and get to the ball(ball population). The Dallas Oline is 1 of the best in the league. Hicks and Bunk have to get off blocks but also Jordan and Junior need to be ready also. Murray likes to run sideline to sideline. Humber and Lofton did a better job last week filling holes in run lanes, stay active. Dallas has 3 recent number#1 pick on their Oline. Hopefully Rob moves Cam around and he can get in against Tyron Smith Dallas LT, one of the best LTs in the game. Murray leads the NFL with 385(5.1 yards a carry) yards rushing so this aspect of their offense cannot be overlooked. Dallas loves to run left, predominately running behind the aforementioned Smith. Romo: 4 ints this year. Pass rush is playing a little better but still isnt the pressure consistently thats needed. Hopefully Rob will get exotic in the blitz schemes. I would be nice to send a S or CB blitz. Im guessing Rob is scared of getting torched 1 on 1. But with only 1 TO forced the entire year and a team as diverse as Dallas hopefully Murray and Romo will be forced into some TOs. In 4 career games weve only picked off Romo twice. Romo is elusive and can throw on the run so rush lane responsibility/integrity is important. Any QBs kryptonite is making their offense 1 dimensional and generating. Rob may run a little more base defense 4-3 to get Parys in the game but i expect the 4-2-5 to be prominent. So far this year Saints 0 ints. WRs/TEs: Dez said earlier this week he expects to be bracketed. And he is correct, the last time we played against the Cowboys in Jerry World Dez and Romo absolutely toasted and torched our defense. I think Kennan is going to be fine 1 on 1 but Dez should and will get Bracketed. Rob simplified the defensive call and responsibilities. It lessened communication breakdowns and blown coverages but we still had a few. Rob simplified it without making it vanilla. Kennan is going to receive help and Dez going to get his catches. The trick is to limit explosive plays (15+ yards) and keep him out the end zone. They love those fade routes in the end zone, Dez is one of the best WRs in the League. Dallas will find and pick on Corey White, hell be on Williams who isnt chopped liver either.White has to be prepared and the secondary must play in cohesion. Vacarro said he has a personal vendetta against Dallas, well good we need him to play much better. Whitten and Vacarro should be a nice matchup if it materializes. Dixon played ok in front of PRob in dime situations. Byrd has to play down hill. He is a TO machine. Hopefully this is the game where he puts it all together along with his secondary mates. Defense had to get off the field on 3rd down, and if Romo gets time they love running sluggo routes aka slant and Gos. Get PRESSURE AND ROCK POPULATION Thanks to all the weekly readers, #WHO DAT #SAINTS LIFE #WDTDC
