Winding down after an amazing weekend of training lots of folks at my range, The Gun Cave Indoor Firing Range, in Hot Springs, Arkansas :) 22 People from 3 states took our NRA pistol class and earned their certification... Of course I am proud of all of them for how much they accomplished during that full day of training, however, I am particularly proud of those who had NEVER handled a gun before in their lives. They had the most to learn and the wealth of information we unload on them can be overwhelming. lol The transformation from FEAR OF GUNS to tactical confidence in gun safety handling and consistency in marksmanship is a tall order. We stay until it is accomplished. My sharp shooter was Taylor Lee, a 17 year old who came with his mom for training. He was like a sponge in class.... asked lots of questions... shot well on the shooting simulator... but I was hardly expecting he would almost cut out the bullseye with my 9mm Walther PPQ at 7 yards... :) Amazing! Implementing time on the shooting simulator range from Ti Outdoors has really been beneficial to our students. We are able to catch and eliminate most marksmanship errors on that range and fix them before we ever hand our students real guns on the live fire range.. What a remarkable training tool! Thanks TI Outdoor for creating a system with so many training tools... The students particularly love the PERSONAL PROTECTION category where they get the opportunity to make split second decisions on whether to pull a gun or not pull a gun, shoot or not shoot, as well as the discovery of how difficult it can be to shoot under pressure. ©2015 JAN MORGAN
