Wisdom that is from above is first pure, peaceable..." is a verse - TopicsExpress

Wisdom that is from above is first pure, peaceable..." is a verse that is incorrectly used by fools who refuse teaching that sounds harsh to them. The truly wise learn from anything that has value. There are two kinds of teaching: teaching for the masses which is gentler and more appealing, and teaching for the elite which is harsher and raw. The verse about pure and peaceable form of wisdom is for the teacher to use in order to be more appealing if they so choose, and not for the student to use on the teacher in a foolish manner. It is more important to be a good learner than to expect a "pleasing" and "nice" teacher. The truly best teachers teach for the elite and not just for the masses. The lips of wisdom are closed except unto the ears of understanding. Wisdom cries in the street but only those who have ears to hear shall hear.
