With all the rumors swirling around the grand jury announcement coming in MO, we felt it would be important to share this advice from our program attorney who specializes legal issues surrounding Law Enforcement Officers, including their handling of peaceful and violent protests. Here are a few tips he would like to pass along: 1) DONT DRIVE INTO TROUBLE AREAS IF YOU CAN AVOID IT! 2) Have Situational Awareness. Doors locked and windows rolled-up Cellular phone ready for 9-1-1 3 short honks, pause, repeat OR car alarm to alert police Handgun concealed but at hand 3) ID the type of persons (peaceful or rioting mob?). 4) Keep moving forward slowly. 5) If they pound on your vehicle, that is what insurance is for. 6) If they attempt to break your window glass, that is what the gas pedal is for. 7) If they attempt to remove you from your vehicle, you may use your firearm, but make certain that it is warranted by the circumstances.
