With summer changes complete, shop opened etc it is back to the day job, or this week night job with two 3.30 starts. Two of the purchases we made on auction were these two dreadful oak veneered cabinets. Which fortunately look great painted with Martin to distress them, yes and doubtless me as he will probably need Teddy to help him. Commercially leaded light windows are a disaster so the glazed doors have been removed. The larger piece just needed the screw holes filled, the smaller enormous hinges left enormous gaps which were filled with reclaimed wood. The bottom trim was repaired, that had taken one hell of an impact. No longer in vogue the cocktail surface has been removed. The mirror and glass shelf making a nice feature. First coat on, next week two more and a light cream silk top coat. Then Martin and Teddy will distress and we will post the final processes and finished product
