Woman of Substance - Alida Simpson , Glen and I started our day really really early in Ajman, UAE in anticipation of our journey back to Cape Town today. As this day approached I painstakingly remembered to the hour and the moment that I received that fateful morning call from the hospital. Glen and I prayed before we left our hotel room for the Airport thanking God for all the blessings our family continue to receive from everywhere always and for your loving presence in our home for all the years, guiding and coaching my children to be as respectful and kind as they are. I could tell you anything in confidence and you never judged always giving me good advice and it never went anywhere despite you visiting my siblings on the rare occasion. I made you many promises in the two hours after you passed feeling that you were standing beside me as I spoke to you my Mummy. The last promise was that I will turn back to my husband and fill the holes of neglect towards him and my health during my very busy time last year - as you yourself loved him- always as your own son, him having always loved you as his own mother. The second last was that I will make an effort to look after my health and see that my children are always loved like you loved them and they loved you. Always beside us and always looking over my shoulder.
