Word for Life Devotional Angel Gabriel Topic: Stagger Not! He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.(Romans 4:20-21) Abraham our father of faith demonstrated some remarkable attitude towards the word of God that made him such a powerful man of God. In Genesis 12 when Abraham was living with his kindred the word of The Lord came to him to leave and go to a land that God told him he will show him. Abraham heard a voice which is the word of God. He had no relationship or acquaintance with God before hearing the word. The voice he heard which was the word of God was strange to him. But Interestingly when Abraham heard the voice(word of God) in spite of all the family pressure and discouragement he took a bold step and left knowing not where God was leading him. But one thing I know is that he took a step of faith. One great thing about faith is that faith doesnt ask how or why, faith is an action word and when not acted upon becomes a mere word. Is a driving force. So Abraham departed and left until finally came to where God showed him. Sometimes when we hear the word of God concerning a matter we want details. It is always not the case Abraham never asked God for details but in taking that step of faith in his obedience to Gods word later saw the clear picture of where he was being led to go. When God called Abraham me made so many promises to him. 1. God told him he will make him a great nation 2. I will bless thee and make thy name great and thou shall be a blessing 3. I will bless them that bless you and curse them that curseth thee. 4. In thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. What a promise! If God comes to you to tell you these what again do you want to hear. It is only faith that will let you move . Now take note of this Abraham was 75 years when he heard the voice of God. Abraham had faith in God to the extent that by virtue of the faith he had in the word of God concerning his life he became the father of All nations. Hallelujah! Now to the scripture above. In spite of all the challenges Abraham went through and with the wife Sarah the bible says he staggered not at the promises of God through unbelief. Sometimes in our lives we seem to believe what we go through and experience more than the word of God. No condition or problem in this life is bigger than the word of God. The audacity of the word of grace has enough fire power and divine ability to change every situation you are in now. If only you will contend with your faith and stagger not, every iota of Gods word concerning your life will not fall empty, it will surely come to pass in Jesus name. Dont allow your present state of condition make the word of God of none effect in your life. Stagger Not! Have faith! The bible says But Abraham was strong in faith, faith cometh by hearing so once the word of God has come to you let your faith manifest the word in your life. Be strong in faith, weak faith and little faith will not help here. Dont be like the people Jesus told them o ye of little faith .Have strong faith in the word of God and you will see the manifestation. If Abraham had not first heard the word of God he wouldnt have moved. He build his confidence on the word of God to him and that was where his faith started growing. Once Gods word has come to you have strong faith in the word. God is not a man that he should lie, whatever he has said to you he has enough power to bring it to pass but all he needs from you is to lift your faith one more time. Yes lift it up by meditating on the word to you and you will be shock how much of faith you least expected you have. It is only in looking at the word that your faith will grow. Then he started giving glory to God. Give him glory no matter what. Dont wait to see; that is not faith, faith is calling those things that be not as though they were.
