Words by Dale: Last night was a chilly one, but none the less, myself, Clayton & Mark headed to the Forest of Dean for Bears. Id only ever ridden Bears once last year on my terrible MBS but this time round, on my Kite Mechanics NoSno Brakeboard with all 10s it was amazing! The main track itself is a long, wide firetrack, rocky in places and because of the recent rain, a little boggy in the middle, but easily avoidable. The run lasted about 4-5 minutes, a massive rush for sure, seemed to go on forever! It has some lovely long sweeping corners with correct camber on each. Some sections were long and flat but my light board seemed to float over whilst the other 2 Pro DH NoSnos bogged down a bit, helpful! ;) When we finished that run, we headed back up a bit then off up a narrower track on the right. This track was a lot more technical, with a steep, narrow first half but reasonably smooth, then the second half being a slippy, rocks everywhere techy, odd camber, jib section where small trees try to knock you off on.. A sudden change for sure, but a good test of slow ride balance. When you finish, youre back on the first long track, then its a long walk back up! But we had an awesome clear starlit night and 2 degrees temperature stopped us sweating so much. Overall, highly recommend this track and personally think its the best track weve ridden this Winter so far!
