Words of wisdom from Robert Affinis: The cliché phrase: opposites attract is true. However, it does just that; ATTRACT! Its fun for awhile in the beginning—mesmerized by the eclectic disposition of others that are absent in you. The sustainability, however is compromised. Ultimately, what qualifies longevity in relationships are self-reflectors. We become enthralled in people based on what excites us about OURSELVES. We see ourselves in others; truisms of our deepest most temperament [our individual psychological personalities inherent to our existence]. The conclusion: opposites do attract, but psychological likeness sustains. This doesnt mean you cant have fun in between times with opposing personalities, however—to be cognizant of the difference is crucial for mental health.
