World Bank recruiting Senior Country Education Specialist Deadline: 6 July 2013 Duties and Accountabilities These positions report directly to one of three Country Support Team Regional Team Leaders of the Secretariat of the Global Partnership for Education. As “Country Leads,” the Senior Country Education Specialists represent the GPE Secretariat at Country Level. They are in charge of a portfolio of countries where they promote the Partnership goals and facilitate its processes. This entails the following responsibilities: Support to Sector Analysis, Design and Implementation of Sector Plans - Develop knowledge of the country education sector in order to identify bottlenecks and solutions for reaching international education goals in general and GPE strategic goals in particular - Support governments in the development of education sector plans, monitor the endorsement of these plans by the Development Partners, and support sector monitoring by reviewing ESP implementation reports, participating in Joint Sector Reviews and other exercises and analyses - Help identify and disseminate good practices and innovations in education policy design, planning and implementation using the Partnership resources in general and its thematic clusters in particular - Work closely with Local Education Groups (LEGs), comprising the government as well as national and international stakeholders in education, to achieve improved cooperation and harmonization at country level, in compliance with the international aid efficiency agenda - Help leverage international financial and technical support at country level - Interface with the Partnership to provide an accountability framework on sector level performances over time See details: web.worldbank.org/external/default/main?pagePK=8454041&piPK=8454059&theSitePK=8453353&JobNo=131429&contentMDK=23158967&order=descending&sortBy=job-req-num&location=ALL&menuPK=8453611
