Yadra Vinaka Viti! Its a beautiful morning here in the West and oh look its #Day7 for us! 😄 This morning the walkers were up and out by 5:30am from Matawalu village just outside of Lautoka, while the support crew packed and prepped for the rest of the day. Its great to have Taholo And Sina Kami here with the team and theyre currently in WOWS mode with the rest of the walkers on the road right now. Its a race against the sun and heat for Ete and crew! Yesterday Lautoka was good to us. People were more then generous along our walk into the city and whilst we rested there for about 2hours people continued to purchase merchandise from our table set-up outside the Digicel store along Vitogo Parade. Supporters also came along just to meet one half of their favourite comedic duo Eteuati Ete of Laughing Samoans and were able to walk away with a signed T-shirt and other merchandise. We then went on to Mix FM to meet the warm and upbeat Irshad, enjoying our time with him talking about our Viti Levu Walk campaign. Thank you Mix FM for the continued support we sincerely appreciate your help in making our efforts to help sick children of Fiji. In high spirits a team then continued on to the Lautoka Hospital to visit sick children at the Childrens ward. It was a humbling experience for the entire team that accompanied Ete to visit and chat with children that were admitted along with their parents. True resilience are seen in the eyes of children, and thats what the team experienced with the easy smiles that came from them whilst we made efforts to spend time with each one and chat for a while. They are the essential reminder for all of us here at team #wOwsKidsWalk of why were doing this walk. From the Lautoka hospital the two groups convened again in town in front of the Digicel store along Vitigo and continued the last 10km to reach Matawalu village where we ended the day. Now to have a quick breakfast roadside and off we go! Ba town get ready! 😄 W•O•W•S .
