Yahoo we have finally got Bots comms. We left Vic Falls yesterday for the 80km trek to the Botswana border. We think that that was best ride we have had so far. Besides a few minor hills and one major escarpment to climb, the road was empty, silent, smooth and flat. The scenery was magnificent, opening up every now and then to large vistas where one can imagine the plains animals roaming in bygone eras. There was also plenty of elephant dung so our heads were swinging left to right scanning for a large visitor. On that stretch the only elephant we saw was an entire skeleton on a juvenile that had died in the bushes. Picked totally clean but could still see the missing piece of skull which suggests that it was knocked over by a truck. We had also forgotten to buy road munchies so we only had water. We were very very happy to see our Mossel Bay travellers catch up to us and give us an ice cold coke each. Brilliant sugar rush. Another quick quick border crossing and we were in Botswana.
