Yakking about how the government is bungling up relief efforts is - TopicsExpress

Yakking about how the government is bungling up relief efforts is not going to solve the current situation, much less help. I was listening to Leo Lastimosa yesterday morning and he was right. How can you properly distribute relief goods when there are no local government officials? They are all victims themselves too. How can you ask them to abandon the surviving members of their families so they can distribute relief goods? They had a similar problem with the police who could not restore peace and order because they were all thinking about their families. If you were a soldier tasked to stop looting and you see an obviously hungry individual willing to risk getting shot just to get to the food, will you find it in you to shoot that person? If you are aware that medical aid and supplies are scarce, will you give the harried medical team one more patient to deal with? You cannot truly say that you know how they feel until you experience the exact thing yourself. You cannot give advice like some expert when youre not. Stop demoralizing everyone. Go out there and volunteer.
