Yay or Nay? This mornings Yes or No ring is simplicity itself. Originally mounted in a Tension-set ring this 1.25ct E-Vs1 round brilliant diamond was a constant source of paranoia for my customer. The mount was not mine I hasten to add! Her stone was repeatedly coming loose, dangerously so by the time it was brought to my workshop! She wanted to keep the basic shank of the ring and have this Spectacle-set collet made for the stone. I used my laser to build up the shoulders of the piece, so that they would fit to the new collet. Spectacle setting is one of the setting styles made by the mounter and set by the mounter as you actually solder the collet with the stone already in place! It is a thrill seaking process as diamonds can be burnt during soldering...not a happy sight that one. :-( So what do our Ladies think of this simple piece?
