Yes I did lose a boy yesterday and yes he has been found. Some concern began about 3 am when he had not returned home from a night out with Tamatea and Jacob and by 6am some concern had become meaningful concern and after managing to talk with one of the boys who reported that he had last seen zeb under a bush and that when he went back to check on him he had gone: meaningful had turned in to major concern. A flurry of calls followed soon after. Here are some useful tips if you should ever misplace a child on the Gold Coast. Your child will only be taken to the station if they have committed a crime. If they are intoxicated they will be taken to a hospital who are well accustomed to dealing with young intoxicated clients: still no zeb. His father advised us to just hop on the plane and head off to Sydney and we did just that. I left his passport at the airport along with a mesage on his cellphone that he would hopefully get when he managed to get it charged, that he should hop on a plane to Sydney asap and that we would be waiting there for him. On our flight down all that I could think of was zeb lying under a bush, victim of a vicious attack, robbed and beaten or that he had been bitten by a venomous snake or crazy cane toad or swarm of red back spiders or vampire bats. As soon as I was inside the terminal I rang his number again and the joy was indescribable as a rather sheepish zeb replied at the other end. He would join us later that day. My nightmare day did not end with being reunited with zeb but you will have to wait for tomorrow for that story. One thing I will say about social media is that zebs going missing was reported, not by me, and that my phone has been going crazy ever since. As I write this zeb is well into the sleep of recovery and no doubt already dreaming of his upcoming reunion with kahui and others in Sydney city this weekend. Only three more days and I will be home, now that is more like indescribable joy
