Yes, we certainly live in an interesting world. I have sometimes commented on the organization BioLogos, and I have called on Christians to pray that people (including young people) would not be led astray by this organizations blatant compromise of God’s Word in Genesis that undermines the authority of the Word of God. I have even written about a seminar that BioLogos is helping to fund and promote that will be held at Calvin College (which calls itself a Christian college) – an event that will sadly attempt to indoctrinate Christians to believe in evolutionary ideas and to re-interpret Genesis to fit those in. Now BioLogos has supplied a grant to help produce a video curriculum. Associated with that project is a prayer list, and my name is listed there. It reads: “Prayer for ECF Grantees--Please pray for our ECF grantees. Like BioLogos itself, many teams are in situations where they are facing criticism from militant atheists or dealing with disagreements between Christian brothers and sisters. Pray for the humility to look for the best in others, wisdom to know what to say and when to say it, and patience in situations that develop over months and years. “On March 21, Ken Ham wrote a blog post, BioLogos Funds Projects to Undermine the Authority of the Word, to warn his followers about the video curriculum created by Diane Sweeney and Josh Hayashi. BioLogos, along with Diane and Josh, responded to Ham on March 26, pointing out that both our organizations care deeply about the authority of Scripture, even if we differ on how it should be interpreted.” Well in turn, I’m asking Christians to pray that BioLogos will stop its blatant compromise (taking man’s fallible, evolutionary ideas and adding them to the Bible) in both the seminars and curricula it funds, that undermine God’s Word -- which can become a real stumbling block to the truth of God’s Word (particularly for young people). Such compromise has seen a tragic result: so many young people are turning their backs on the Christian faith because they believe Gods Word cant be trusted in Genesis. And yet BioLogos is asking people to pray for Christians like me who have decided to take Genesis as written. I would rather stand before the infinite Creator God and tell Him that I took Him at His Word--instead of saying I did my best to incorporate man’s fallible ideas into His Word in Genesis and to reinterpret it accordingly!
