Yesterday I found out that my adoptive father lost his fight to cancer. I hadnt seen him since I was about 15 years old. All day I tried to figure out how I felt but I couldnt. I mean him and my mother adopted me and my siblings when we were just babies, but things didnt work out between my mother and him and I didnt see him again till I was 15. Then never again. I tried to keep in touch with him but it was hard I was already grown with children of my own. My mother had remarried when I was young and that man he had his faults but he was there for me. I shared all my childhood hopes, dreams ,experiences , with him. I wont lie there were times I wished I had a better relationship with my adoptive father especially when I thought I knew everything and my parents were trying to ruin my life with all their rules. I wish my children could have met him just to know that even though he wasnt in my life he played an important part in it. Im glad him and my mom decided to adopt me. I will always be grateful to him for that. Rip McKinley Mitchell.
