Yesterday I spoke at an office lunch fellowship and shared on my memoirs-testimonies. I reminded myself and the audiences there that as I talk about my past - it must not be about ME - how great I was; the sacrifices I made and what I did for God but it must be all about Jesus - How Good and Great He is, What He has done for me! What He can also do for you! Ps 105:1 Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done. 1976 was my MCE year also the year I got baptized. Coming from a non-Christian home, I was advised to get permission even though I was 17. I remember I was afraid to ask my mother. After much prayer and gather up enough courage, I went to ask her. I expected a lecture or scolding but instead she did not say much, she asked me to ask my father. I have to pray more and gather more courage. I asked him and guess what? He asked me to ask my mum. Well, I took it as a yes. Both my parents came to witness my baptism. It was one of the most meaningful and joyful day of my life. That year my father celebrated his 51st birthday and we had a big dinner celebration. Sadly not long after that he met with an accident. I was in church for the Young Peoples Meeting. A neighbor came in half way while I in front. He interrupted the meeting and asked me to go to the hospital with him immediately. As we were driving and arrived at GH I did not think of anything bad then until we were directed to the mortuary. My siblings were crying, I started crying, my heart sank and my hopes regarding my future education at that moment was dashed...
