Yesterday, I successfully signed up for a new health insurance plan using the Obamacare Marketplace. My wife and I had been paying a little over $400/month for two individual plans. We purchased a family plan that was slightly better for our needs and we will be saving over $150/month. The lower premiums reflect the fact that I am in law school and have relatively no income right now. In the future we will certainly pay more. I know that my results are not typical but I think it is important to share your story especially since the current media narrative is that the website doesn’t work and that all the plans are unaffordable.
