Yesterday I went to visit the NYC midtown stables and the horse carriage drivers for a second time to investigate claims of abuse and mistreatment that were thrown at me by protesters during a fashion show I walked in this season. I pulled a carriage to see how heavy it was (technically horses PUSH the carriage not pull it... but hey, I did what I could), asked about the retirement processes for horses, where they are bought from, alternative lifestyle options, quality of feed, frolicked with a few ponies etc. A blog will be released soon with a break down on the ethics of this industry in my opinion relative to the reality of current conditions for horses globally in a world where domestication is the only option to prevent extinction for many creatures.
