Yesterday #TeamSinema volunteered at Ironman Arizona. What an incredible experience to welcome so many amazing athletes at the finish line! I met a whole lot of great people last night, but a few stood out. 1) Nick and Chris. Both competing for the Challenged Athletes Foundation, these buddies ran the last 8 miles of the race together and crossed the finish line in unison. Each athlete ran with one cheetah leg, having lost a leg earlier in life. I met them at the finish line and Ive never been more honored to open a bottle of chocolate milk than I was for these two men. Inspirational guys - they dont know me from Adam, but they inspired me to work harder and be grateful for all that I have. Nick and Chris, you two rock. 2) Bob Jordan. I caught him at the finish line and quickly learned this was Bobs 23rd Ironman, and his third this year! Bob just completed Kona last month. As we walked towards the athlete village area together, I learned that Bob traveled to Az alone, and for the first time ever, didnt have his wife or son at the finish line. Luckily for me, I got to be Bobs Sherpa for a bit last night. Along the way, I learned a lot about this generous and good man. You can too, visit DoingItForEmily and read about Bob and Terrys little girl Emily, lost to leukemia when she was just five. Bob races for Emily, and you can too.
