Yesterday was a long day. He weighed in and has gained another pound. He is now up 2 pounds in a month thanks to the new blended diet. Then we headed to Pittsburgh for his cerebral palsy clinic appointment. It was about 2.5 hours long. They were pleased with his progress since the last appointment and we only have two suggestions to work on from their point of view...we need to start wearing his speaking valve more often for more than just speech as it can also help with swallowing, increase muscle control, and increase sensations in the mouth...and also to look into getting a behavioral evaluation to hopefully get some suggestions on stopping his bad habit of throwing himself backwards from a kneel to the floor before he really hurts himself. Other than that, everything seems to be progressing. Last night we didnt have a nurse again, so it was nurse mommy on duty. Daddy didnt have a great night either, so we are all exhausted! Thankfully, we have a nurse tonight and we can all hopefully have a great nights sleep. So there wasnt too much going on today. He did have speech therapy, and of course it started out with a lot of frustrated and angry crying, but he did get into playing with an adapted See and Say toy with her. Tomorrow, he has a visit from his child development specialist and who knows what else we will get into! Have a great night everyone!
