Yesterday was one of those sweet and magical travel days, - TopicsExpress

Yesterday was one of those sweet and magical travel days, beginning with sea otters, ending with a delicious hot shower, with frolicking Dolphins sandwiched in between. Luna and I traveled slowly up the Big Sur coast from our sweet retreat at Kirk Creek campground to Monterey. Along the way, we had a much needed dump at Pfeiffer Big Sur park. We also had an aborted attempt at an illegal stroll to the beach at Andrew Molera sp. luna was spooked by the lowing of a cow and drug me all the way back to the caravan. We pulled off for one last stop at Garrapata Beach and were delighted by both the surfers and the Dolphins. It felt like such a stereotypical California scene - hoards of bleached blonde boys racing each other down the cliff to the beach and the perfect waves. As we sat watching, I started to think Luna had been skunked. I finally realized that it was the boys on the cliff behind me, smoking weed and heckling their surfing buddies. Next up was the pod of dolphins, playing in the surf just beyond the surfers. As I was just thinking that they seemed to be playing with the surfers, one guy caught a huge wave - one of those waves that become translucent just as it is about to crest, and there is the silhouette of six Dolphins, surfing the wave with the solo surfer. Incredible!
