Yet another new TV commercial that exactly parodies a Wes Anderson movie (The Grand Budapest Hotel in this case). It makes me wonder why corporate ad agencies so often mimic Anderson in particular, when there are so many other distinctive indie-film directors they could choose from. Because his work is so recognizable? Because its so twee and stylish? Because it just naturally makes it easier to sell liquor and sweaters for some unexplainable, magical reason?
