Since then YAA has become one of Yorkshires leading pet transport companies recommended by vets all over Yorkshire and also by major referral centres throughout the country. The team is run by Suzanne Waller, a former vet nurse herself with years of experience working with animals. WE offer 24 hour emergency service plus routine appointments Monday through till Saturday at very competitive prices. Our service is second to none from the moment that we arrive to pick you and your pet up till the moment we return you home. A door to door service, where we will help you with your pet, not only to get your animal within the safty of the specialised vehicle but when your at the vets. All of which is part of the service at no extra cost! Vehicles are specifically designed with your pet in mind, and built to strict safetly recommendations in accordance with DEFRA and the transport of animals welfare act. Our vehicles are cleaned after EVERY animal using a special formulised cleaning product which has proven efficacy, against the most resistant of pathogens, including Canine parvovirus, Feline calicivirus, Feline peritonitis virus and the causative organisms of Kennel Cough and Ringworm. Which is part of YAA’s disease control management. Under the Welfare of Animals (Transport) Order 1997, you must not transport an animal in a way that causes, or is likely to cause, injury or unnecessary suffering to that animal. It is also important that a dog is suitably restrained in a vehicle so that it doesn’t distract the driver or injure them if the vehicle stops quickly (UK Highway Code). It is for this reason that animals MUST travel in our secured cages within the vehicles. We are fully insured not only to transport you and your pets but also to handle your pets whilst they are in our carel. We also hold a DEFRA licence in accordance with the law and Transport of animals in welfare Act to transport your pets. WE also hold the following recognised qualifications: • Lantra AWARDS – Level 2 AWARD Animal Transportby road Short Journey • City & Guilds NPTC certificate of competence in Safe Handling and Use of Veterinary Medicines Level 2 • Lantra Awards Cerficate in Live capture, immobilisation & Handling of Live animals • IOSH Working safely Certificate YAA also hold a waste carriers certificate which is needed in order to move any deceased animals, which is another service that we offer. Please be aware that we operate within the law and whilst are an ambulance we are not permitted to ignore the highway code. We will endeavour to get to all emergencys safely and quickly within an acceptable timescale. Please not that emergencys will take priority over any routine bookings.
