You Have a Hope! Daily Meditation: ‘Now David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and his daughters. But David strengthened himself in the LORD his God’. 1 Samuel 30:6 Bible Reading: 1 Samuel 30:1-6; Nehemiah 8:10; Genesis 8:22. Reflections: No matter what you are passing through today, your tomorrow shall be great! Life is full of discouragement. In fact, there are more things discouraging us then the opposite. In the fulfillment of your divine purpose, GOD calls you to one thing: encourage yourself in the Lord. For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are the plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11-12). Sometimes, when you have tried all means and nothing seems to work; when it looks like your dreams will not be realised; when it looks like you are moving further away from your desired expectations, at such times, learn to encourage yourself in the Lord. Go back to the drawing board. Go back and review His promises to you concerning that situation. Go back to Him in prayer. Make enquiries of Him as to whether you are on the right track. Sit back and take a long look at your strategy, and see whether you can change a few things. No man gets to the top without encountering a few obstacles on the way. And every stumbling block is a potential step on the ladder of life! Despite all his trials, Job was able to triumph because he encouraged himself in the Lord (Job 13:15). Encourage yourself because from that trial, there will be a triumph! From that mess, there will be a message of hope and restoration. From that test, there will be a testimony! From being a victim, you will win the battle and become victorious. When men are cast down, then you shalt say , There is lifting up ... (Job 22:29). Your time has come!
