You Have a Ministry Are You Exercising It? Spiritual Maturity 2014 Never mind what they tell you at church, if you are a Christian, you already have a ministry and no ordination papers or degrees are required. There is something that God has called and equipped you to do, where you would answer directly to Him regarding your efforts. If you search your heart you know that there is something that you are gifted to do that you are not doing because they won’t let you exercise that gift in the local church. The majority of Christians do not believe this and the majority of pastors do not truly encourage Christians to step out into their own private ministries. Instead they teach that your talents and private ministry are to be merged with the local church. What is happening here is your gifts are being subverted, your talents redirected while of course neglecting their true spiritual gifts, which most modern pastors dont care the least about. Instead these men usually think they have “all that” covered by their own alleged spiritual gifts. What they often really want from members is just their money, earthly talents and time, and of course to fill seats so they can have the largest audience possible when they teach or preach. Saint you have to understand that the gift/talent God gave you needs to be exercised and is needed for the Kingdome of God to grow. Why did God give it to you if it were not to be used for His glory! Remember the parable of the talents, they are to be used and not hidden. You will have to stand before God one day and explain why you did not exercise your gifts. You can’t make the excuse that at church they would not let me go forth because God’s word plainly states that it is better to serve God that to serve man. Countless Christians lose their private ministries without ever realizing that they even had one to begin with! They are so busy exercising church traditions that they fully believe a church grows by assimilation (absorption) of the talents, abilities (and sometimes gifts) of Christians to use for the expansion of the pastors agenda, which usually means the expansion of the brick and mortar facilities. So if you are called to visit the sick then do it, if you are called to encourage then encourage, if you are a giver give as God leads you, if you are called to teach use social media if they won’t give you a platform. Don’t let the restriction of man limit what you do for God! (7) Howbeit in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. (8) For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men... (9) And he said unto them, Full well you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your own tradition. (13) Making the word of God of none effect [ineffective] through your tradition, which you have delivered: and many such like things you do. (Mark 7:7, 8a, 9, 13) [Emphasis added] Again, if you are a Christian you have a ministry, but its your responsibility to protect it. Dont let it be suppressed or stolen.
