You have to listen to what shes saying tho. I dont think its so much about race as it is PRINCIPLE. There is a high proportion of black males losing their lives in the street to violence by police, ourselves, etc...Granted these are choices both forced on our black males, as well as chosen by our black males. There is a huge lack of resources in poverty stricken communities where our black children live and grow. We havent raised one dime to promote awareness about whats really happening right now. Indeed, I believe that this ice bucket challenge is needed to help raise funding to cure the disease, however some of the most powerful black people donating funds to this cause may have not donated anything to their communities, and they certainly havent promoted more awareness about it by doing a challenge. So I technically get what shes saying as well as where she is coming from. I hate to say shes right because it sounds so harsh and direct, but it is true. What challenge are we as people doing to correct whats really happening right now. I guarantee if we did a challenge to support inner city black youth and families, no one would participate it in. Its not a worthy cause, but something like A.L.S. gets support off the charts.
