You may have noticed I even a bit quiet I here. Unfortunately I havent had the chance to get to Lidl in the last week and so had to do a quick shop at sainsburys. This has only served to reaffirm my position that Lidl is not only much cheaper but also much better quality, particularly when it comes to fruit and vegetables. On many of the items I purchased, I paid 30-40% more than lidl (potatoes, cheese, salad) but As well as that the quality is far inferior than I am accustomed to. My avocados (supposedly ready to eat) are still hard as rocks after 4 days and my bananas are still green! Oh and the skins of the grapes are so thick theyre difficult for me to swallow- never mind my 2 year old fussy eater son! I know this is like preaching to the converted but honestly I cant believe the cheek of sainsburys. Packaging their cheap range in orange and white bags to make you feel bad about buying them, charging significantly more than Lidl and delivering a product, which is quite frankly rubbish. Stick to lidl or if you cant get there, go elsewhere, but dont waste your money at sainsburys!
