You really cant win if youre a Midwestern Liberal, can you. To the Far Right, youre a Socialist. To the Far Left, youre a Fascist. You find yourself agreeing with people on political issues you would never otherwise agree with; because the people you usually like have their heads in the clouds and refuse to see whats actually happening here on Earth. You get instantly lumped in with people you disagree with simply because you agree with them on ONE Issue. Is it really too much to ask to temper ideals with pragmatism? Is it too much to believe that we have a duty to those less fortunate to help them get back on their feet? Is it too much to ask that we stop knee-jerk reacting to Every. Single. Thing. that happens? Can we not send death threats to people because they point out flaws in something we enjoy, and instead work to correct those flaws? Can we not send death threats to a scientist because he wore a shirt? Can we compromise on something? Anything? Maybe get something done for once? No, apparently we cant, because weve gotten to the point where we are so deeply entrenched in our own beliefs, stuck in this stupid all or nothing mentality, that nothing can get done. So on behalf of those in the middle (or at least middle left) Thank you Tea Partiers, and thank you hippies, for making change impossible. /impromptu rant
