Your school life was great… If you had more no of girls in your class from the neighboring states than your own state If you had played hand cricket in those few minutes before going for the prayer If you had not submitted the assignment just because your friend didn’t complete it If you were very happy on friendship day whereas the day of Rakhis brought the worst fear If you and your friends got the key of your computer lab on an extremely rare occasion and there was no one to disturb you around for the whole 40 min. If you had braved to take part in all those bizarre Olympiads be it science, math or green for the only reason that you can spend some time with your crush away from the school. If you had volunteered yourself for the annual day fest because she had a dance to perform If you had been selected as a substitute of a team for regionals and on the most important day instead of cheering for your team you are lost in the girl’s match that is played parallel to your court. (Their tight jersey and the kindergarten shorts was more than enough to send you to nth level of excitement) If some teacher was absent, you rushed to the ground before some other teacher sensed this opportunity; as a result she stepped into your class only to find an empty room. That was certainly a hive-five moment If you had fought for your friend’s tiffin box rather than safeguarding your own last slice of puri If you had roamed the entire school on the last two periods in the name of CCA If your vacation had started only after all the other schools had it commenced but ended when all the losers went to school a month in advance than you. Whether it was physics lab, chemistry lab, or biology lab inferences made was the same as that of the person sitting beside you. Even though you would have changed your school every three years but still didn’t feel any difference at all because wherever you went you wore the same navy blue and white uniforms, although now it has been changed to checkered shirts with an interplay of red, white, grey and blue matched with grey bottoms or whatever… Last but not the least, if you had belonged to the only student clan in the whole of India which didn’t take any tuitions during the boards. And… By this time if you are searching your first ever slam book, some hazy photographs and those age-old but precious greeting cards from your hidden treasure vault, signed by people who had left permanent marks on it as well as your hearts then, this festive season get ready to relive life through words as first time in the history of Indian fiction a story ‘Of the KVite, By the KVite and For the Kvite’ unfolds.
