Zambians in the United States hold memorial services for President Michael Sata Zambians in the United States over the weekend held memorial services for President Michael Chilufya Sata in various states in the United States. Zambians in Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia gathered at St Mary’s Seminary where a Memorial mass was held presided over by Father Victor Mwanamwambwa. Speaking in a homily, Father Shoba Nyambe urged Zambians in the USA to remember what the president stood for especially the poor people. And Charge D’Affaires at the Embassy of Zambia Mr. Joseph Chilaizya commended the Zambian community for holding a remembrance service for the President who will be buried in Lusaka on Tuesday. Mr. Chilaizya in his eulogy asked the community in the DMV to emulate president Sata by uniting to developing Zambia. “President Sata had brought unprecedented developed in the three years he was in office because he had a heart for the people of Zambia,” Mr. Chilaizya said And a leader in the Zambian community and Senior Pastor of Agape Word Center Church International Nkhosana Chongo called on the community to be united and pray for the country. Other clergy who attended the memorial service where Bishop Masanje Banda from Fountain of Grace Bible Church, Pastor Maidstone Mulenga from the United Methodist Church, Pastor Wina Lisulo from Living Waters Church International, Father Gregory Nyambe, Father Clifford Kaumba and Father Charles Sokota. Meanwhile memorial service where held in Atlanta, Georgia, Dallas Fort-Worth and Chicago.
