Zarb-e-Azb: IDPs number rises to 300,000 as military continues in North Waziristan PESHAWAR: The number of internally displaced persons (IDPs) from North Waziristan has risen to 303,057. The government is arranging 2,000 vehicles for the withdrawal of IDPs from North Waziristan. According to the data provided by FATA Disaster Management Authority (FDMA), over 300,000 people have migrated from North Waziristan Agency since the operation started. Senior provincial minister Sirajul Haq announced a Ramazan relief package for internally displaced persons (IDP) and said they would also be provided SIMs to contact their loved ones scattered across the country. The ministers said 300,000 residents of North Waziristan have arrived in the province and the influx of IDPs is likely to accelerate. He added Rs350 million has been released by the provincial government for their relief. Further, 96,000 children will be vaccinated against various diseases while 64,000 will be vaccinated against polio for the first time in the IDP camps.
