Zooming-in, Zooming-out: Connecting Micro-Macro Link Recently I was having dinner at Vientiane, Laos with one colleague from IFC/World Bank. After listening to my work with SAI Sustainable Agro (sustainableagroinc/) with marginal and small farmers in Odisha as well as my work with Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) in Lao PDR with UNDP where I am developing country level policy framework, he asked on how do I manage to work at two very different levels: with local community at village level, and with top government officials and ministries at national level. It was my exposure to other world which expanded my context, knowledge and most importantly my vision to see inside-out (zoom out) and outside-in (zoom in). Now, I can visualize that if I am making a national policy how will it work at bottom/village level; and if people at the village level are making efforts, how the national policy can help them.
