GIKI is known the world over for setting a standard of excellence in the field of engineering. Apart from its outstanding academic program, GIKI is also known for the versatility and vibrancy of its extra-curricular scenario, with a vast hub of modern sports facilities the Institute highly encourages sports activities. The All Pakistan Sports Fest’14 will be held from 25th-27th April 2014. The details of the events are : Cricket [Boys] Rules: • Matches to be played with tape ball • Each team to comprise of 8 players (No substitutes) • 6 Overs per innings • Matches may also be played under flood lights Football (Boys) Rules: • Each team to comprise of 14 players including the goal keeper (11 starting + 3 substitutes) • Cleats and shin pads are mandatory • Matches to be played at the GIKI Football field • One half will be of 35 minutes each • And it will increase in the later stages Basketball [Boys] Rules: • Each team to comprise of 7 players (5 starting + 2 substitutes) • Players are required to wear proper non-marking shoes • Matches to be played on the indoor wooden court of GIK Institute • Time duration of one quarter will be 12 minutes Basketball Girls Rules • Each team to comprise of 7 players (5 starting + 2 substitutes) • Players are required to wear proper non-marking shoes • Matches to be played on the indoor] wooden court of GIK • Institute • Time duration of one quarter will be 10 minutes Futsal Girls Rules • Each team to comprise of 7 players (5 starting + 2 • substitutes) • Matches to played on the indoor wooden court of GIKI • One will be of 15 minutes each • Players are required to wear proper non-marking shoes Table Tennis Girls Rules • A game of 11 points each • Singles and Doubles (both) • Games will be played indoor Rules for Registration: 1. Incomplete registration forms will not be entertained. 2. Last date for registration is 19/4/2014. 3. Please mention clearly the name of the Team Leader for every team, as all correspondence between GSS and the team will be through the team leader. 4. Please abide by the number of participants as outlined in the event modules. 5. The registration fee is Rs. 1000 per participant, which includes accommodation and participation fee. 6. If any participant is willing to participate in more than one category, he/she will have to pay additional charges of Rs.500 per category. 7. The registration fee must be submitted in the form of a bank draft payable to ‘GIK Institute’. 8. Draft should be sent along with the registration form and your respective submission(s), if any. 9. Participants should bring their Institute ID cards along with them; else you will NOT be allowed to participate in the tournament. 10. Students can participate in multiple modules; however one student cannot lead two Teams. 11. The teams are expected to submit scanned copies of registration form(s) via email by the above mentioned deadline. 12. All forms submitted must bear an official stamp of the University/Institute. 13. Due to limitation of time, only 7 teams per game will be entertained. So the selection of teams will be on the first come first served basis. Please do not waste time and register as soon as possible. GIKI Sports Society reserves the right to change any rules and regulations without any prior notice and all decisions will be final and non-challenge-able.
